The letter U is worked in one go, you work the inner row first then carry right round to work the outer row. Start at the top right hand side.

1. R 4 DS, 3 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, cl. R, RW.
2. C 4 DS, P, 4 DS, RW.
3. R 4 DS, J to last P of previous R, 4 DS, 2 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, cl. R, RW.
4. Repeat last C and R until there are five Rs and 4 Cs. Do not RW after last R.
5. R as before, RW.
6. C 4 DS, J to P of previous C, 4 DS, RW.
7. R as before, RW.
8. C 4 DS, P, 4 DS, RW.
9. R as before, do not RW.
10. R as before, RW.
11. C 4 DS, J to P of previous C, 4 DS, RW.
