2 tatting shuttles
-
Wind 2 tatting shuttles without cutting the thread between them.

Start by tatting over a paperclip - thread a paper clip approximately half way
between the shuttles.

paperclip, J with Sh1 into space left by paperclip.

half stitches. Reinsert paperclip and draw it up tightly against the last
stitch.

Continue all round the motif as shown until there are eight rings at the
centre, each carrying groups of five rings at the top. Join all rings as
described, the last 4-4-4-4 R is joined to the first one and the last C is
joined to the first one exactly as before. Don't forget to make the final two
unturned stitches before joining into the base of the first mock ring - I find
this method makes a very neat centre and you can make the traditional flower
motif using it as well.
