MATERIALS

  • No. 20 Crochet Cotton
  • Shuttle and Ball Thread
  • Hook for joining

SIZE

  • 4.5 cm wide, 5.5 cm high

The letter O is worked in two sections - the centre first, then the outside. I started at the second ring up on the inside left row - but if you like you can start with the bottom ring and use a split ring to climb out into the lock join chains. You will, however, need to adjust the pattern if you do this but experienced tatters will be able to look at the illustration and start where they wish. Shuttle and ball thread used throughout for this one unless you want to do the split ring.

ROW 1

  1. Start at the second ring up on the left hand side of the inner row.
  2. R 4 DS, 3 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, cl. R, RW.
  3. C 4 DS, P, 4 DS, RW.
  4. R 4 DS, J to last P of previous R, 4 DS, 2 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, cl. R, RW.
  5. Repeat last R and C until there are four Rs and 3 Cs, do not RW.
  6. R 4 DS, J to last P of previous R, 4 DS, 2 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, cl. R, RW.
  7. C 4 DS, J to P of previous C, 4 DS, RW.

  1. Lock J to the free P of the bottom R of the left hand side, facing so you are working up the left hand side.

  3. C 4 DS, 3 P sep by 4 DS, 4 DS, lock J to next free P, do not RW.
