This week we experimented with photographs. First of all, we experimented with the Clone tool and the Clarify and Unsharp Mask techniques. I used a picture of my garden in London, England.

Note that in the lower picture the dead hosta flower has been removed with the clone brush, as has the bird bath edge at the front.
Next we went on to experiment with selecting images and transferring them to other photographs to combine them. I decided to use the teddy I had turned into a tube as he was already cleaned and ready for selection, and to add him to the garden picture shown above. Can you tell here I was running out of time?! The flowers at the front were from the tube I made last week.

The borders in this picture were made using the Image-Add Borders tool which I love, and applying Super Blade Pro effects.
During the lesson we studied choosing a photo, selecting part of the image and pasting it, cleaning up that selection and then applying it to a background made from that photo. Then we added borders. I didn't have time to do much with this rather fun technique but I can see the possibilities. I made my background by using the Straw Wall effect, adding my signature and decorating that with Super Blade Pro and then using the instructor's techniques for making borders. I love making borders to frame pictures!
