In the first image I used the Jasc roses tube as an extra and colorised it using the coloriser and adjust brightness/contrast. I then added another ribbon tube. The background was done with the halftone filter in the PSP 8 effects and in the border I added a 5 pixel white border, filled with gold gradient and bevelled. Then I added a 25 pixel white border, and applied the Blinds effect once horizontally and once vertically.

For this one I kept more or less to the lesson and then used the Unsharp Mask once I had cloned the lamp post out. Then I applied a canvassy texture from the Texture Effects to give it the look of a watercolour painting, then added a 30 pixel wide border, filled with textured gold gradient and applied Inner bevel again.

I saw this gorgeous rose when I was out for a walk one day and had to get a photo of it! The petunias are from my front yard. I really kept to the lesson for this one as I was running out of time.
