We had fun doing animations this week. The teddy bear is called Jean-Louis because I was working for a small publishing company in the late 80s and one of the publishers found out I collected teddies - the next thing I knew was I came in one morning and found this bear sitting in my chair - given to the publisher by his French girlfriend in 1969 - could well be true because I researched Jean-Louis's label and it's accurate - he's a Chad Valley/Chiltern Hygienic Toy with the label from the late 60s. The dog was unanimously named Wags during the holidays when we had a class playing around with animating his tail!

The next exercise was VERY difficult for me. I kept getting lost in layers and it took ages to work out that what I had to do was merge a picture of dog without tail, the tail I wanted animated and the background together each time we needed a new frame - that's why I got so confused in class. Sorry Eagle!

I don't know if I'll get class exercise done - making Tugs' tail wag "full swing"; I will try later today. Tugs incidentally is a Chesapeake Bay Terrier, apparently a real character according to his loving owner, who is another member of the class. I got quite fond of him while working on him because he so reminds me in character of my family's beloved daschund who died in the early 80s. The animation on the lower right was my second effort and much better - got his tail wagging full swing!
