CURRENT PROJECTS FRIDAY 7TH JUNE 2002Please click here to see previous pages in this site, or click on the Archives button at the left hand side. It's been a long time since I updated you on what's been going on but so much has happened that I simply haven't had time even to look at these pages, and now they are needing a full overhaul! In early February questions were asked about why the tatting site had disappeared from Bella Online. I went to www.bellaonline.org and had a nose round, then found the pages for applying to be a host where the Webmaster's address was hidden. I e-mailed her and within half an hour had been appointed the Tatting host! I won't say there haven't been problems and it isn't a lot of work, but it's fun and great to be able to help other people solve their tatting problems. I have also passed all my exams at the Online University and am in a fair way to becoming a graphic designer with Paint Shop Pro. In addition I'm doing the courses at the Paint Shop Pro Users Group and have learned an enormous amount. Also in February, one of the students in the HTML course I was taking at the VU had major problems uploading pages and by the time we'd gone through that procedure the instructors had contacted me and asked me to join the helper team next term! Yesterday I finally got round to working out how to get my web cam to record, and made a recording by playing one of my favourite piano pieces, the slow movement from Franz Schubert's Sonata in A Major Deutsche 664. I've adored this piece ever since the BBC did a round up of different recordings of it and compared them all - it's a wonderful sonata. I have uploaded the recording to this web site, please click here to enjoy it - click on the thumbnail and you will be taken to the relevant page where the recording will start automatically. You'll need RealPlayer and speakers to hear it. It's streaming download so you won't have to wait hours to hear it although it's a 3 megabyte file. It takes about four to five minutes to play so leave the window open if you want to hear it all, and you can take your time looking around here. So it's been an exciting time and I hope to update you all more frequently in future with what's going on and what I'm doing. |
